LeanWMS drives significant improvements in warehouse operations efficiency

By using RF-based field wireless data exchange and terminal technology, as well as barcode/RFID-based material identification, LeanWMS provides full transparent material inventory information (both on-site or in back stage) and real-time (next) operational guidelines to drive significant improvements in warehouse operations efficiency.

The following diagram shows a typical LeanWMS working scenario:

==> Goods receipt

Work with on-site RF handheld terminal, material inbound identification, material information collection, unitload assigment, and barcode printing can be completed in one operation. LeanWMS supports RFID-based batch identification, which can help customers further improve the efficiency of the goods receipt.

==> QC, Put-away

Through the handheld terminal of LeanWMS, the quality inspection status of material in receiving buffer can be easily obtained on-site, as well as the next operation instructions, for example, waiting for quality inspection, putting-away to storage location, or forwarding for line feeding. For put-away, LeanWMS will suggest the best storage location for the material, and guide the operator’s operation through the RF vehicle terminal or RF handheld terminal. In multi-operator operating situations, LeanWMS will properly coordinate the parallel operation, and all of this is based on real-time strategy algorithms.

==> Stock move, replenish

LeanWMS is able to automate the management of most in-house material movement based on real-time policies, automatically generate various required material transfer instructions, and assign instructions to the RF terminal of the operator of the business unit in real time. For example, when the picking area needs replenishment, LeanWMS automatically selects the best replenishment container for the operator, suggests the best replenishment location, and directs the operator’s operation through the on-site RF vehicle terminal or handheld terminal.

==> Stock maintenance

Through the RF terminal, various types of stock maintenance operations, such as stock-taking, material consolidation, unitload splitting, unit load transfer, stock status maintenance, printing labels, etc., can be easily and quickly completed.

==> Picking

Whenever a new outbound order is released from host system or by manually input, LeanWMS will automatically process the order and deploy the picking position for the outbound order according to the material control strategy. The planned picking task will reach the RF vehicle terminal or RF handheld terminal of the different business unit operators in the warehouse in real time, and guide through the on-site terminal picking operation.
LeanWMS supports different picking methods. Depending on the material storage technology, storage form and material unit loading type, you can configure the optimal picking method, such as discrete picking based on minimum path algorithm, zone picking, picking to light, dynamic goods to man Picking, etc.
Depending on the needs of the process, LeanWMS supports a wide range of mobile picking and labeling devices that facilitate the printing of shipping labels at the same time as mobile picking.

==> Line Feeding, e-receipt

LeanWMS can help manufacturing customers properly control line-side material buffer and the production materials supplies. Based on material pull requirements during the production process, LeanWMS plans and organizes production material picking, line delivery, and manage returns and containers recycling.
Where material handover is required, LeanWMS supports RF handheld terminals based material counting, verification and e-signature receipt (e-sig).

==> Automated, unmanned equipment control

When materials are operated with automated, unmanned equipment or systems, such as AGV, automated material storage systems, automated picking systems, etc., LeanWMS’s capabilities and extensive implementation experience in automation, unmanned system drive and controlling can help customers seamlessly integrate them into the material process chain, through direct drive or via WCS interface.
